With so many pictures to choose from, what do I pick?
Well, on the first day we walked half way round Uluru (Ayers Rock) – its majestic beauty makes you forget that it is forty degrees in the shade and that the last thing you want to do is walking…
On day two we travelled to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and hiked seven kilometres through the Valley of the Winds – not the cool breeze you might have in mind but absolutely stunning.
On day three we walked through Kings Canyon and climbed up to the plateau of the Lost City which offered a breathtaking view down into a waterhole with the telling name Garden of Eden.
Day four brought us to Glen Helen in the Western MacDonnell Ranges. A strenous walk into the Ormiston Gorge was rewarded with a refreshing dip into the Ellery Creek Big Hole.
The final day brought us to the Oak Valley where we made the acquaintance of Loy, a local Aboriginal woman, who gave us a glimpse into her culture.
