That’s where I work, the dolphin discovery centre in Bunbury, WA. It’s a non- profit organisation, apart from the ladies running the cafeteria and the souvenir shops, nobody makes any money. There are usually about six of us volunteers on duty and we take turns watching out for dolphins at the beach or explaining about marine wildlife to visitors. There is an aquarium section and a touch pool where we have mostly local species on display. My favourite is the flounder, a flat fish that is so well camouflaged that you can barely see it – it can actually change colour and take on the exact colour of the sand it is hiding on.
